We will visit Sandoval Lake. After navigating for about 40 minutes along the Madre de Dios River, we will arrive at the Sandoval Lake checkpoint. From here, we begin a 3 km walk through lush tropical rainforest vegetation, entering the Tambopata National Reserve. Board a dug-out wooden canoe to quietly paddle through a stream and glide onto Sandoval lake, flanked by palms,
This serene oxbow lake is home to diverse wildlife, including endangered giant river otters, red howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, capuchins, sloths, red-bellied macaws, anacondas, piranhas, side-neck turtles, black caimans, and many other species.

We will return to Terra Verde Lodge in time for lunch.

This unique experience allows you to observe the rainforest from above and appreciate its vastness, surrounded by an endless sea of treetops. The first tower reaches 40 meters (131 feet) high, offering excellent opportunities to observe canopy bird species such as tanagers, toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, macaws, and parrots. You may also spot monkeys, squirrels, and sloths.

As night falls, the jungle transforms into an exciting display of nocturnal life. On this night walk, we will explore the trails with flashlights to observe nocturnal wildlife such as insects, tarantulas, spiders, snakes, frogs, night monkeys, porcupines, owls, and more. We will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
